If you’ve got pine trees near your house, you know how this goes. You clean the gutters out, get a little wind, and they’re full of needles again. After a while, you get tired of doing the same job over and over.
At OrCal Seamless Rain Gutters, we install gutter guards on new and existing gutters throughout Northern California, including Redding, Mount Shasta, Weed, and Yreka. We also serve Truckee and the Lake Tahoe area, including Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village, and South Lake Tahoe. LeafBlaster Pro is the cover we recommend most often, especially for homes surrounded by pine trees.
Before we put covers on, we check the gutters underneath. If they’re leaking, sagging, or holding water, we want to get that figured out first. Give us a call about your gutters, and we’ll talk about what you need.

We like LeafBlaster Pro because its fine mesh helps keep out the small stuff that gets through larger gutter screens. Leaves are one thing, but pine needles can work their way through surprisingly small openings. For houses around pine trees, this is usually the first product we show people.
LeafBlaster Pro uses stainless steel micro-mesh supported by aluminum rails. Its raised Z-Bend pattern helps keep debris lifted off the mesh surface. It’s a professional-grade product installed by contractors, and it’s the option we recommend on many of our jobs.
We also pay attention to where the water comes off your roof. An inside corner below a roof valley can get a lot more runoff than a straight section of gutter. Those spots need a closer look so we can fit the covers properly and address any drainage problems.

We also install Leaf Exterminator gutter covers. If you’d like to compare the two products, we can show you the differences and talk about what would suit your house. The trees around the property, your roof, and the gutters you already have all matter when choosing a cover.
For homes dealing with a lot of pine needles, LeafBlaster Pro is generally our first recommendation. We’ll explain why we prefer it for your setup and what maintenance you should expect. You’ll have a chance to look at the options before deciding.

This is something we see quite a bit around Mount Shasta, Weed, Truckee, and Lake Tahoe. Needles settle into the gutters, mix with dirt and leaves, and eventually collect around the downspout openings. Once things start plugging up, water backs up or spills over the edge.
Fine-mesh guards help keep that debris out of the gutter, but the needles don’t disappear. Some can sit on top of the covers and need to be brushed off occasionally, especially below roof valleys. We’d rather explain that upfront than promise you’ll never have to check your gutters again.
If yours are already full, we can discuss cleaning the gutters before installing covers. Starting with clear gutters and downspouts lets us check how the system drains. It also gives us a chance to spot anything that needs fixing.
A lot of the time, yes. You don’t necessarily need a whole new gutter system just to add covers. If your gutters are in good shape and draining properly, we can often work with what’s there.
We’ll check for leaks, loose sections, standing water, and downspouts that aren’t keeping up. Sometimes a small gutter repair is all that’s needed first. Putting a cover over a gutter that doesn’t drain won’t solve the problem underneath.
If the gutters are badly bent or worn out, we’ll explain whether gutter replacement makes more sense. We don’t want you spending money on covers for a system that already needs replacing. We’ll show you what we find and talk through the options.
If you’re getting new gutters, that’s a good time to talk about covers. We specialize in 6-inch OG K-style seamless gutters and can include LeafBlaster Pro with the installation. The larger gutter gives roof runoff more room, while the covers help keep debris out.
We still need to get the slope and downspout layout right. Bigger gutters and good covers are useful, but the water needs somewhere to go once it leaves the roof. We’ll go over the whole setup with you, including where the downspouts discharge.
You can read more about our seamless gutter installation services here. Whether it’s a house, garage, or shop, we’ll look at the roof area and drainage before recommending the layout. That way, the gutters, covers, and downspouts work together.
Pine needles are a regular part of gutter maintenance around Truckee and Lake Tahoe. If your home sits under mature trees, the gutters can collect needles, small branches, and other debris throughout the year. LeafBlaster Pro is the option we recommend most often for these homes.
We serve Truckee, Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village, and South Lake Tahoe. Before installing covers, we look at the existing gutters, roof valleys, and downspout locations. We also talk about winter conditions so you understand what the covers will help with and what needs separate attention.
Whether you’re adding covers to existing gutters or planning a new 6-inch seamless system, get in touch about your Tahoe project. We’ll talk through the job and explain what we recommend. You can also see more of the communities we cover on our service areas page.
A house in Redding and a cabin in snow country can need different things. For rain, we look at how much roof drains into each section of gutter and where the heaviest flow comes together. Roof valleys and downspout locations can make a big difference.
For snow, we need to think about what might slide off the roof, particularly if it’s metal. Gutter covers aren’t snow brakes, and they won’t stop a sheet of snow from coming down. Keeping pine needles out and protecting gutters from sliding snow are separate jobs.
On homes around Mount Shasta, Truckee, and Lake Tahoe, we consider both drainage and snow movement before recommending the setup. We’ll explain where snow retention may need to be considered. We want you to know what to expect before the work starts.
LeafBlaster Pro comes with a manufacturer’s limited parts warranty. The published coverage is 40 years for qualifying installations, reduced to 10 years within five miles of a shoreline, including lakes. Labor and certain types of damage aren’t covered.
We’ll go over the coverage that applies to your property. You can also read the full manufacturer’s warranty before deciding. The product warranty is separate from installation workmanship coverage.
If you’re hoping to qualify for an insurance discount, check with your insurance company first. Ask what they require, which products qualify, and what paperwork they need. We can give you the details of the product we’d be installing.
We need to see the job before giving you a useful price. The footage matters, but so do the height of the house, access to the gutters, and their condition. Cleaning or repairs may also need to be included before the covers go on.
A single-story house with easy access is a different job from a tall house with several roof levels. Let us know where you’re located and what’s going on with the gutters. We’ll discuss the work and put together an estimate for your property.
LeafBlaster Pro stainless steel micro-mesh is usually our first recommendation. We like the fine mesh for keeping pine needles and smaller roof debris out of the gutters. We’ll still look at your roof and gutter setup before recommending it.
Often, yes, as long as the gutters are in suitable condition. We’ll check the drainage and look for leaks or loose sections first. If something needs fixing before the covers go on, we’ll show you.
You’ll still need to check the gutters and covers. Needles and leaves can collect on top and may need brushing off from time to time. Covers help reduce cleaning, but we wouldn’t call them maintenance-free.
Yes, we can include a suitable LeafBlaster Pro setup with our 6-inch OG K-style seamless gutter installations. We’ll check the fit and how water comes off the roof. It’s a good time to plan the covers, gutters, and downspouts together.
No, sliding snow is a separate issue. We need to look at the roof and discuss snow retention where appropriate. Gutter covers don’t make a system snowproof.
If you’re regularly cleaning out leaves and pine needles, they’re worth discussing. We’ll look at what’s collecting in your gutters and explain what covers can realistically help with. The condition of your existing gutters matters, too.
Yes, we serve Truckee and the Lake Tahoe area, including Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village, and South Lake Tahoe. We also work throughout Redding, Mount Shasta, Weed, Yreka, and surrounding communities. Check our service areas or give us a call about your project.
If you’re tired of digging pine needles out of the gutters, we’re happy to help. We’ll take a look, show you the options, and explain what we think would work for your house. If something needs fixing first, we’ll talk about that, too.
